Released in 1966 but recorded during 1956 to 1958, Sun Ra (and his Solar Arkestra) Visits Planet Earth is  a jazz album by Sun Ra. The 2006 reissue of the album being the only one I have physically, it contains also the songs of the album Interstellar Low Ways.

"Of all the jazz musicians, Sun Ra was probably the most controversial," critic Scott Yanow said, and he was probably right. His philosophy, his eclectic tastes individualized his music.

With his Arkestra, he is responsible for some of the best jazz songs of the 20th century.
